Planning your project

Define what your business needs from infrastructure

A server plan should begin with the application, traffic patterns, data requirements and acceptable interruption. We review the existing environment before proposing configuration changes. The goal is an operational setup that is understandable and maintainable, not simply a larger server.

Agree the operating responsibilities

Updates, backup verification, monitoring, incident escalation and deployment support should each have a defined owner. Coverage hours and response targets must be stated in the agreement. Provider charges and application development are separate unless included explicitly.

Plan restoration, not only backups

A useful backup policy identifies what is protected, where copies are stored and how long they are retained. Restoration checks help establish whether the available backups can support recovery. Changes to production systems should also include an agreed maintenance window and rollback approach.

Frequently asked questions

Can you work in our own cloud account?

Yes. We agree the minimum access required and keep ownership with your business. Cloud usage is billed by your provider.

Is support available around the clock?

Coverage hours, escalation contacts and response targets are agreed in the support plan. Standard project work does not imply 24-hour monitoring.

Are backups enough on their own?

A backup plan should also define retention, access and restoration checks. The exact process depends on the systems and recovery requirements.

Will server changes cause downtime?

We plan maintenance windows and rollback steps. Some changes require interruption, which is discussed before scheduling.

Can you reduce cloud costs?

We can review resource use and recommend changes. Savings depend on workload, service commitments and provider pricing and are not guaranteed.
